Why Invest
in Games
By Jacob

Always
invest in games for entertainment, happiness, and money. Games bring
money. Games bring power. Games sell for millions. Games teach. Games
sell. Games can be designed. Games can be altered. Fun can be had. It
can help you work.
How can
games bring money?
Games can
bring money in a variety of ways. They dance with your mind. You
might be a writer, you may want to write about games, you may want to
review games, or you may want to write an adaptation of a game.
You can get
breaks as a writer with games. Writers sometimes find it hard to
escape their desk, much like gamers have a problem escaping the game.
Yet if you have games like Halo or Demons Souls waiting to be played,
you can escape work and play. You can save money. You cannot work
endlessly and expect to make a fortune.
Too much
work burns you out. Games can burn you out too, force sleep, and
force you to engage the world in different ways. Some games are
simply too valuable to your mind to be sold. Some games are simply
worth too much not to sell. You might bid on the game; you can always
play games for money (dangerous, but always possible, just like
playing cards).
How can
games bring power?
Games are
always power. Investing in stock is power. Sometimes you win on art,
sometimes you lose. You might compare games to comics. Comics can
bring wealthy, comics can bring knowledge, and comics can give you a
break.
Many have
bought games and sold them for high amounts, or bought expensive toys
young and sold them for too much. You should always play games before
you sell them. It takes some time, but games do go out of print. You
might lose on some, you might make $1,000 on another. Some people go
insane on old Nintendo games, which are always sold. There are ways
to get power beyond money. You can get power from winning. You can
learn to respect your mind. You can improve your mind. You can
improve your speed. You can improve, even, your fighting skills.
Why do
games sell for millions?
Games are
much like Hollywood: people love them. That is why they sell, that is
why they bring power.
If you go
with a game that is small, maybe Zelda for Nintendo, you might win
more. Some games start small and gain a following. Some games take
years to pick up and revolutionize the genre. It depends on the
money.
Why Games
Teach
If you play
games, you can always make money creating games. Gamers win. You
might be the storyteller. You might be the hacker. You might be the
tester. You might be the girl who creates the maps. You might be the
guy who writes the book. Much like books teach, and movies teach,
games can teach.
Where does
the gaming art engine go next? The gaming art engine would demand
more from you. You must challenge yourself to sell a game. You should
challenge you to write a game. You should challenge yourself to win a
game. These are not all work, but you can call them work.
You can
make money or no money, lose in a game or win, investing in games
brings power. Invest in art.
How can you
get more of this power? You play.
How would
you invest in your art? You play the game.
